A brief History of Beer advertising part 2

Moving on to other Beer firms, let's have a look at some other oldies but goodies.  Mister Magoo, the blind as a bat cartoon character was the spokesperson for Stag beer at one time.  Stag was produced in Belleville IL by Griesedieck Brothers.  They also produced Falstaff, the beer the say that Hank Williams Junior was drinking on the long taxi ride to oblivion in late 1953.

One of the characters in this commercial for Falstaff Beer looks like a young Jack Nicholson.  But I digress.  This was obviously not a ladies beer.

This commercial seems to have a secret agent theme, which was all the rage in the 1960s, but it does suggest women might be drinking it too, towards the end.

Shortly prior to the disastrous tampering with the brewing process that killed the Schlitz brand, we have this commercial which says somewhere that "you don't get a second chance to live your life".  Nor a second chance to build your reputation as a decent beer, apparently.

This one features McLean Stevenson of MASH fame later on.

This one features Richard Roundtree who was known for his Shaft films.  It is one of a series of Schlitz Malt Liquor ads in which at the end of which a bull crashes through the wall.

Moving on to Miller Lite, these commercials has to be seen to be believed.  I guess the second one is an effort to move into the Asian demographic.  Ken Jeong is a comedian of South Korean extraction.  I don't have any idea about the first one.  I guess they are saying that if you drink any other lite beer but Miller Lite you are some kind of pansy.
